SOLAR ECLIPSE CAIRNS:
Eclipse at the Dome

A Uniquely "Wild" yet Civilized Expedition
Presented by Public Radio Guam

Join Public Radio Guam on the adventure of a lifetime:

A five-day expedition to Australia to see the November 14, 2012
total solar eclipse from the Cairns Wildlife Dome

No other tour offers the opportunity to see the eclipse and the wildlife in such comfort and style.

DETAILS OF THE TOUR:

WHAT?

One of nature’s most dramatic phenomena--a total solar eclipse—viewed from the unique vantage point of a rooftop wildlife sanctuary. Watch the sun rise and then darkness return as the moon obscures the sun. Observe native birds and beasts of tropical Australia as daylight dims and then returns. See the stars and bats come out to play, and then vanish, after a dramatic second sunrise.

HOW DO I BOOK?

Reserve now. Tour slots and air routes into Cairns are expected to sell out months before the tour date. Click the "Reservations" bar, print out the PDF booking form, and deliver or fax it to KPRG as indicated on the form.

Act now to avoid disappointment. This is a small “boutique” style tour, limited to 60 guests. Air and accommodation bookings to and within the Cairns region during this period will be extremely limited and expensive. Our tour offers some of the best package values available on the international market. However, prices are subject to change at any time without notice prior to receiving your deposit.

HOW DO I GET TO CAIRNS?

Guests coming from North America are still finding reasonably-priced air tickets to Cairns. Guests coming from certain Asia-Pacific origination points--such as Guam, Saipan, Taipei, Seoul and certain cities in Japan--are encountering sold-out flights or outrageously-priced tickets.  We might be able to help.

We have reserved a limited number of non-stop airline seats from Guam to Cairns exclusively for our tour guests, which are available for purchase separately at $1,199. The airline has sold them for as much as $2,078, when available at all (Alternative routings entail more than a full day of circuitous travel, require multiple stops, and are even more expensive!)

Guam is a major Pacific air hub. As flights continue to book up, guests should consider using Guam as a reasonably-priced connecting point into Cairns. For more information, click on the FLIGHTS TO CAIRNS bar.
